Seven cartes-de-visite photographs depicting school children with their teachers outside (two?) unidentified Brisbane schools. Taken by early photographer Edward H. Forster. Two of the photographs include teachers Anne and Jane Wilson, daughters of William Wilson who was associated with the Church of England School at Spring Hill in the 1860s.

William Wilson was a teacher who came to Moreton Bay in Jan 1863. His son, two daughters and his son's new wife arrived with him. His daughters Anne and Jane also were teachers. They settled in Kennigo Street in Brisbane. According to the donor, two of the photos (524 & 526) show Anne and Jane Wilson with unidentified pupils. Jane Wilson became head teacher of the Leichhardt Street Infants School (est 1875) and this may be the location of several of the photographs. From the desc...
